The Latcham Gallery

The Latcham Gallery is the public art gallery located in Stouffville, Ontario, 45 minutes north-east of Toronto. It is dedicated to providing opportunities for members of the community to view art and the ideas that artists express through contemporary art.

The Latcham Gallery was started in 1979 by a group of local artists and visionaries who saw the need for an arts facility in Whitchurch- Stouffville. The Gallery was named after local philathropist Arthur Latcham who donated money to a number of local buildings including the building that was to house the Gallery at 6240 Main Street.

Laura Millard: Meltwater

January 14 - February 18, 2012

Opening reception: Saturday, January 14, 1-3p.m.

In this solo exhibition of large scale printed photographs, Laura Millard depicts a succession of cascading moments, both landscapes of this world and worlds in themselves.  Veils of falling Meltwater from the glaciers of the Columbia Ice Fields are transformed into abstract, glistening spaces of lingering motion and light.  Millard is an artist, writer and educator that has exhibited in artist-run, commercial and public galleries across Canada, and is an Associate Professor at OCAD University.
