Saturday, June 8, 2019
11:00 am - 6:00 pm
Memorial Park, Whitchurch-Stouffville

Join us at Art in the Park (Memorial Park, Stouffville) to participate in a collaborative community art project! Create a drawing of something that YOU love about Planet Earth, like your favourite animal or plant, or a place that you love to visit, and add it to our Earth mural. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate in the activity and express their love for our planet through art-making. This is our final Latcham Saturdays event before we break for the summer. Latcham Saturdays will resume in September.

Latcham Art Centre is open to the public during Art in the Park between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Visitors are welcome to stop by to view the exhibition on display. Admission to the exhibition is always free.

Latcham Saturdays in Memory of Catherine Anne Courtney

This event is part of Latcham Saturdays - weekly opportunities to learn, get creative and engage with art through hands-on art activities, art education, opening receptions, artist talks and demonstrations, tours, performances, and more! Latcham Saturdays will provide community art events most Saturdays of the year from fall to late spring. Check back here or in the Latcham Saturdays brochure (available at Latcham Art Centre) to see what's happening each week!

Latcham Art Centre is proud to partner with the family of Catherine Anne Courtney to celebrate art and creativity with this exciting program.

Catherine Anne Courtney (1944-2017) was a devoted lover of art, nature and poetry. Catherine liked to create paintings of nature when she had the opportunity. She was also a collector of rocks, stones, oak and red maple leaves from wherever she travelled. She often visited the gallery and loved to engage in conversation with anyone about the artists and the subject of the artworks. Latcham Art Centre is pleased to recognize Catherine Anne Courtney and the support of her family.
