Alice Teichert is a multi-disciplinary artist exploring the endless possibilities of how line, shape and colour can create text, producing notations that can be both read and experienced. Inspired by language and music, Teichert’s paintings, photo collages, and text works all inform her practice of visual poetry. Her upcoming solo exhibition, text’painting at The Latcham Gallery will feature works that focus on how gestural painting can be interpreted like text and how text can be reimagined as image. In addition to her paintings and photo collages that explore these themes and ideas, the exhibition will include her 16-part composition s’pos)in( which includes an audio recording of the artwork being performed. This will be the 10th anniversary of the ongoing project and guests who attend the opening reception on Thursday, May 17th at 7pm, will be treated to a short excerpt of the performance by the artist.
